I can finally walk again! Well, just a few blocks at a time as I heal from a broken metatarsal in my foot but I missed wandering around and capturing my neighbors’ random assemblages.

I started writing about historic theaters as a way

I started writing about historic theaters as a way to combine my interests in architecture, L.A. history and movies. But as the renovation of the Palm Springs Plaza, where I saw Yellow Submarine as a child, gets off the ground, it seemed like a good time to look at historic theaters that have re-opened around the country in the past year, from Kevin Smith's in NJ to Raleigh and Milwaukee. I guess it runs in the family -- the last pic is of a thrift shop that preserved the Calo, one of the theaters my grandfather used to manage in Chicago. Read more at the link in bio.
